Dynamic Simulation & Results Analysis
Course Information
This course provides guidance on how to evaluate any range of passive or active Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for rooms, systems, buildings, and sites. Evaluate predictive metrics for site energy, source energy, energy cost, and carbon emissions by using the world-renowned APACHE simulation engine.
The lessons will take you step by step through how to perform and analyze dynamic simulations within the IESVE.
You will learn how to:
- Create custom constructions
- Set up basic systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, and hot water
- Create thermal templates
- Apply constructions, systems, and thermal templates to the model and review the assigned data
- Set up and run ASHRAE or CIBSE Loads for heating and cooling
- Review the results, and optionally use them for auto-sizing the heating and cooling systems
- Run the dynamic simulation
- Look at the simulation results to see standard reports and consider output variables for further analysis and evaluation of the design.
Why Choose the "DYNAMIC SIMULATION & RESULTS ANALYSIS" Course?
-
Holistic Evaluation of Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
This course offers a comprehensive guide on evaluating a wide range of passive or active Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) for rooms, systems, buildings, and sites. The focus on both passive and active measures ensures participants gain a holistic understanding of energy efficiency strategies.
-
Utilization of APACHE Simulation Engine
Participants will learn to leverage the world-renowned APACHE simulation engine for dynamic simulations. This powerful tool enables the evaluation of predictive metrics for site energy, source energy, energy cost, and carbon emissions, providing a robust foundation for informed decision-making in building design and operation.
-
Step-by-Step Dynamic Simulation Process
The course takes participants through a step-by-step process of performing and analyzing dynamic simulations within the IESVE (Integrated Environmental Solutions Virtual Environment). This hands-on approach ensures that participants not only grasp theoretical concepts but also develop practical skills in the dynamic simulation workflow.
-
Customization Abilities
Participants will gain proficiency in creating custom constructions, setting up basic systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, and hot water, and creating thermal templates. This customization capability is crucial for tailoring simulations to specific project requirements and optimizing energy performance.
