Course Information

This course provides guidance on how to create an HVAC system, input relevant data and check these inputs, and perform CIBSE heating and cooling loads calculations.

The first series of lessons will take you step by step through how to quickly assemble HVAC plant and control systems, using a flexible schematic component-based approach within the VE.

You will learn how to:

  • Combine detailed and idealised HVAC plant models for different rooms in the same model.
  • Create simple networks and more complex HVAC networks and controls
  • Use the system library and auto-sizing functionality
  • Integrate the HVAC design with the dynamic thermal simulation

The following lessons demonstrate:

  • How to perform CIBSE heating and cooling loads calculations in the VE
  • How to check and view Input Data in the VE, including viewing room and plant loads in the results viewer
  • The building physics theory that guided the development of CIBSE regulations and related inputs used within the VE

Why Choose the UK Loads & HVAC Sizing Course?

  • Specialized Training for HVAC System Design

This course is tailored to provide architects and HVAC professionals with specialized guidance on creating HVAC systems, inputting relevant data, and performing heating and cooling loads calculations according to CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) standards.

  • Comprehensive HVAC System Assembly

The first series of lessons take participants through a step-by-step process of assembling HVAC plant and control systems. Using a flexible schematic component-based approach within the Virtual Environment (VE), participants will learn how to efficiently combine detailed and idealized HVAC plant models for different rooms within the same model.

  • Versatile HVAC Network and Control Systems

Participants will gain skills in creating both simple and complex HVAC networks and controls. This versatility is essential for adapting HVAC designs to different building layouts and requirements, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to handle diverse projects.

  • CIBSE Heating and Cooling Loads Calculations

The course demonstrates how to perform CIBSE heating and cooling loads calculations within the VE. This knowledge is essential for ensuring that HVAC systems are designed to meet the specific heating and cooling requirements of the building, aligning with industry standards.
